Gardening, Eco-Warriorism and all things green…an update.
Mrs. Wilson, Mr. Morse and Mr. Brooks have all been working very hard, along with their dedicated troupe of Gardening Club members. Before the summer holidays, they made some hanging baskets to sell, and invited parents in to make their own. The sale of these raised ₤200, an excellent job!
The ‘Green Team’ also made up some Hampers for sale, these were filled with lovely fresh, organic vegetables from the gardens. Obviously these were of limited supply, but after selling them all very quickly, the team had raised ₤75. Another good return.
There were also some HUGE vegetables grown,
and these were put into a special hamper, along with some other bits and bobs, and this was donated to the kitchen at St. Ann’s Hospice.
On the 29th of September, our Green Flag award was reassessed, and we were awarded our second Green Flag! An excellent result, and you’ll be able to see the brand new flag waving proudly at the front of school very soon.
Finally, on Thursday 21st of October, Miss Sandercock, Mrs Wilson and Mr Morse will be attending the North West in Bloom event, where it is hoped that we will improve on last year’s result. Wish them luck!
